Your Baby By pregnancy week 3 you may start wondering about having twins. Twins occur when the ovaries release more than one egg, or when the egg in the uterus divides into two. More and more women are having twins in recent years. This trend is due to a number of factors including a rise in use of fertility treatments and increasing maternal age, which slightly increases your risk for having multiples.
Changes In Growing Baby
Your Body's Development If you are trying to get pregnant now is the time to start taking care of your body. If you haven't already you should start taking a prenatal supplement. You should avoid alcohol, drugs and smoking throughout your pregnancy to ensure the health and well being of your baby. You should also start eating a healthy diet and continue exercising regularly. If you have not exercised up until this point in time chances are you can still start a healthy and safe exercise routine during your pregnancy. Talk with your healthcare provider about safe activities (like walking). Exercise during a normal pregnancy is very healthy for both mother and baby. It may even reduce the time you spend in labor and speed up your recovery after you have the baby!
Changes In Your Body
Within the next 10 days or so you should be able to take a home pregnancy test that will tell you if you are pregnant! Even the most sensitive tests typically can't detect a pregnancy until a few days before your missed period. If you detect a pregnancy prior to this chances are your conception or ovulation date may be earlier than you initially expected!
